Welcome, Foolish Mortals, to the Monster Illustration Website. We're a loose confederation of illustrators who banded together in 1996. Our mission: to fight the scourge of tedious art, to share mailing costs, and to save a tree or two!

In 2000, our group was featured in How Magazine in an article that does a very good job of explaining what we're all about. We were also featured in Successful Direct Mail Design published by PIE books and in Self-Promotion Online by Ilise Benun. We have successfully completed 5 group mailings since 1996, including the ever-fabulous baseball card mailer. In 2001, Monster won a spot in HOW's Self-Promotion Annual for our baseball card set. We are currently developing a new promotion booklet with the UK Monster Illustration group.

If you aren't receiving our unique Monster mailings, by all means, sign up!

You might also enjoy visiting the site of our friends across the puddle, the Monsters UK.

This calendar promotion was produced in 1998 with twelve West Coast Monsters to celebrate the coming Millennium. It was one of our most successful mailings to date, as Art Directors kept the thing up on their walls year-round. A new artist was featured every month.

This here's the cover of the Monster Baseball Card Set we produced, which was inspired by Isabel's insane baseball card collection. Who knew they made baseball cards of Bo Derek called "Here's Bo"? We found a printer to help with the look and feel of real baseball cards, included a mini-poster of the group for good measure, and finished the whole thing off with a nicely printed wrapper. Baseball cards just the way you like 'em - just like 7-11 used to make.
