4/08 Well, hello earthlings! We're starting the finals for a full-size picturebook called A Curious Collection of Cats for the kind folks over at Tricycle Press. I'll post some sneak peeks soon. In the meantime, check out the latest work I've done for Camper Van Beethoven and Tricycle Magazine. Oh, yeah, I also just finished a bus ad for the Exploratorium!
2/08 There's a lovely interview with the Wertzateria over at the sfgirlbybay blog. Take a gander! Update 2/21/08: if you are in the SF Bay Area and you get the Chronicle, look for the cover of today's 96 Hours section. I did a nifty Chinese Dragon Puppet that you can cut out and parade around town.
1/08 If you're in San Francisco any time in the near future, look up! The Banners we did for the Exploratorium are starting to appear on poles all over the city. See the original artwork here.

We're up to 80 images on the dog blog, working on a new book project with Flower Frankenstein called Dog Dreams.

wertz CVB poster sketch12/07 Camper Van Beethoven alert! Wertz is doing (hand-done) screen printed posters for the CVB/Cracker shows at the end of the year. The image will also be available (at the shows) as a tshirt. If you can't make it to any of the live shows (sorry), check the shop in 2008 to buy yourself one of the silk-screened posters.

There is some huge news brewing at the Wertzateria. HUGE. We can't tell you what it is yet. Stay tuned.

11/07 We donated one of these (the last of the prints!) to Visual Aid's big deal. Also! A handful of our drawings appear in the new Bark book, HOWL. Go buy your friend a copy.
10/07 Just finished a big job for the Exploratorium - three banner designs that will be going up on power poles around San Francisco very shortly. See the designs here.
9/07 There are now 75 images in the Dog Blog. Also, I will be sharing a tent with Jim Winters for this years' Sugar Valley. Lots of my prints will be for sale! In anticipation of the fair, we've slashed prices in the shop! Sugar Valley will take place on October 7, 2007 from 11 am to 6 pm. Look for the mini-fair on 18th Street, between Hartford & Noe, right off the Castro Street Fair.
7/07 I'm super excited about the work I've been doing for this here indie creativity guide. Oh, and the spots I did for Tricycle magazine are up!

3/07 The book we did a boatload of illustrations for called Where's My Stuff? will be released through Orange Avenue Publishing in July 2007. Where's My Stuff? is "The Ultimate Teen Organizing Guide" and reminds me of the handmade books I used to make for myself when I was in grade school. Geek power!
2/07 Take a gander at the new wertzateria shop! We've updated the portfolio page as well with a nifty new function that allows you to see only the newest images.
2/07 Had a most marvellous time up in Portland for the Wurstminster Dog Show. My entry for the show, "Staffordshire Bull Terrier" (which, incidentally, was part of the Dog Blog), sold right away. Nice. Also got to see Bwana's store: The Grass Hut and had a good chat with an artist named Scrapper.
12/06 'Tis a busy month, to be sure! Check out the Bark's E-Card site, with three animated cards done by yours truly, including this festive card created in Flash. Pick a card, send to a friend, check out The Bark!
12/06 The latest issue of Frontiers Magazine is chock full of illustrations by the Wertzateria - we count 21 separate illustrations. In adition to the regular Good Life feature I do every two weeks, there's a slew of spot illustrations for two features : the Seven Deadly Sins and (er) How to Get Laid in Los Angeles. Whee! I had the good fortune of meeting a few of the Frontiers crew when I was in LA for T-giving. Lovely, lovely folks.
12/06 Looking for some elegant (yet colorful) gifts for the holidays? The Wertzateria has got you covered. Stop by the store at the deYoung Museum to pick up hats, shirts, mugs and magnets illustrated by yours truly. While you're there, check out the Quilts of Gee's Bend and the Ruth Asawa show. Fantastic.
9/06 The Wertzateria was commissioned by the deYoung Museum to create an image that will be showcased on a line of products in the deYoung Museum Store. This line of products will coincide with the one year anniversary of the re-opening of the deYoung, October 2006. Click here for a larger image and details.

3/05 As part of the Animal Magnetism show at the Pajaro Gallery, Wertz did pet portraits from 12:00 (there were already people waiting with photos in hand) until 5:30 when he collapsed and had to be resuscitated with a round of fish tacos. It was a ton of fun. Thanks to Janet for setting up the drawing day, and for the nifty photos! Check 'em out!
2005: This year marks the ten year anniversary of the Wertzateria. We'll be celebrating with the the publishing of the newly re-vamped Wertzateria, as well as a series of postcard mailers.
